Menopausal Skin and Ageing.

The one thing that women worry about most is ageing. When menopause starts, they can feel they look older very quickly with a sudden loss of radiance. Many factors contribute to this, and women often notice that tier skin is beginning to look tired, with a grey pallor and usually an increase in fine lines and wrinkles.

In of the things we advocate here at Salon Pierre is when talking about their skin, try and choose skincare products that are formulated especially for menopausal skin. The ingredients to look out for include retinol and peptides, which will both help to boost collagen production, plus vitamin B3 to improve the appearance of uneven skin tone.

Managing Your Menopause Inside and Out

As well as what we can do you help reduce the impact of your menopause on your skin from the outside, we can also help you think about what you can do from the inside.

A great start is eating a healthy diet that’s rich in vitamins and omegas. Include in your diet vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and beans, as these are especially rich in skin-supporting nutrients.

Drinking plenty of fresh water and making sure that that tipple is not going to damage your good work. Remember – In the short term, drinking alcohol can cause dry skin, flushing, dark circles, and decreased elasticity, and we definitely don’t want any of that.
